UBC Athletics & Recreation have secured a $3.5 million donation to construct a new baseball training facility in Thunderbird Park. The proposed 12,000 square foot facility will be developed in order to deliver a much improved training environment to support high performance baseball (UBC Varsity), as well as amateur baseball and other sport groups. The facility will house:
- batting cages,
- pitching training facility,
- functional training spaces,
- washrooms/change rooms,
- and coaches and staff offices.
The project design and construction will be managed by UBC Properties Trust with construction expected to begin in early 2015.

The Baseball Indoor Training Centre completed construction September 2015. Designed to be a multi-seasonal facility, the Indoor Training Centre provides the community with the necessary equipment, instruction and technology needed to uphold the high performance standards UBC Baseball achieves through their Varsity athletics, youth and adult programs.
